Qualifying property owners can request that their name be kept confidential. Once approved, the owner's name won't be disclosed and the account information will be completely removed from the Bexar Central Appraisal District's (BCAD) website; however, all other public account details will still be released in accordance with the Public Information Act.
Who Qualifies for Confidentiality?
Qualifying categories include but aren't limited to:
- Attorney General employee
- Commissioned security officer
- Elected public officer
- Family violence survivor
- Peace officer
The full list of qualifying categories is on Form 50-284, Request for Confidentiality, and in Texas Tax Code § 25.025.
To apply, submit the Request for Confidentiality form along with a copy of your employment credentials or other supporting documentation.
What is Web Suppression?
If you don't qualify for confidentiality status, you can request web suppression instead. This will remove your account from view in Property Search on bcad.org. However, all public account details will still be released in accordance with the Public Information Act.
Any property owner may request web suppression. No qualifying category is required.
To apply, submit the "Request to Remove Personal Information from the Bexar Central Appraisal District Website" form.
How Do I Make My Account Visible Again?
Both confidentiality status and web suppression stay in effect until the owner revokes it.
To remove either status, submit the Revoke Request for Confidential Form along with a copy of a valid ID.
