If you receive a letter that appears to be from the Bexar Central Appraisal District (BCAD) but you are unsure, please contact us immediately to confirm whether it originated from us and to determine if any action is required.
Important to know:
- We will never mail you a bill or ask for payment.
- If you receive something asking for money, it most likely did not come from BCAD. It may have come from the Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector. You can reach their office at 210-335-2251 to check if the letter is fraudulent or from another office.
- The Texas Property Tax Code requires us to mail notices for existing deadlines and specific processes.
- Our staff will do everything we can to help you. However, if you respond late—or do not respond at all—our ability to assist you may be limited.
Examples of letters BCAD sends:
- Notice of Appraised Value (NOAV)
- Information Requests such as:
- Mobile Home Label Numbers
- Agricultural Operations
- Homestead HS Verification
- Business Personal Property Renditions, Inventory Notices, and Denials
As deadlines are important, please contact us as soon as possible if you are unsure whether a letter has been sent from our office.
