Form 50-114 Residence Homestead Exemption Application must be submitted to the Bexar Central Appraisal District for review and processing.

Ownership
- If the property is not listed in the applicant's name in BCAD records, supply a copy of your recorded deed so that we may update ownership. In cases where the current owners are deceased, bring death certificate(s) plus recorded affidavit of heirship, or probated Will to affirm and update the ownership. If a probated Will or Affidavit of Heirship is not available, but applicant is a direct heir of a deceased property owner, applying for an exemption as an Heir may be an option. - For Mobile Home ownership, submit a copy of the Statement of Ownership and Location from Texas Dept of Housing and Community Affairs.
Trust
- If the property is listed under a Trust, a copy of the Certificate of Trust or other relevant portion of the Trust is required to affirm the applicant is listed as a “Trustor” or “Beneficiary” of that Trust.
Identification

A copy of applicant/owner’s current Texas Driver’s License or Texas ID with the address matching the property you are applying for is required. If under the confidentiality program with the Office of the Attorney General, in a nursing facility, or if you or your spouse is an active-duty military member, please contact our office for alternatives, at help.bcad.org or by calling 210-242-2432.

If not yet awarded Social Security benefits, a physician statement from our office may be used if applicant qualifies under Social Security Disability guidelines.
