To provide convenience and improve efficiency, Residential Property owners who file a protest by the state’s deadline (May 15 or 30 days after a Notice of Appraised Value) may schedule an informal conference with an appraiser to review and potentially settle their protest.
These informal conferences are conducted by phone or video and are self-scheduled using the “Appointy” scheduling app—generally available from May through August.
How It Works:
Once BCAD receives and loads your protest in our system
- A letter will be mailed to you with instructions, a QR code, and the Appointy web address.
- You can choose a date and time that works best for you to speak with an appraiser.
What You Need to Know:
- Provide a working phone number and/or email when scheduling.
- Appraisers will contact you at your scheduled time from 210-750-9398. Please save this number for reference.
- If you don’t have internet access, BCAD staff can assist with scheduling. Instructions are included in your letter.
- Appointy is limited to 5 accounts per user. For more than 5, BCAD will provide alternate instructions.
If your protest is not resolved during the informal conference, written instructions for a formal hearing before the Appraisal Review Board (ARB) will be mailed.
Non-Residential Protests:
- Commercial Property: Email comminformal@bcad.org with your Property ID(s) to request an informal meeting.
- Business Personal Property (BPP): The BPP department will contact you with next steps.
