If the business owned or used taxable business personal property on January 1, the property may be subject to taxation for that year. This article explains what to do if your business changes during the year.
If Your Business Closed:
- Provide the closure date
- Submit a change request through the BPP forms section (if available)

Include supporting documentation if you have it (optional but helpful)

- Utility disconnect notice
- Business sale documents
- Photos showing closure (optional)

If Your Business Moved:
- Provide the new business address

Indicate whether the move was:
- within Bexar County, or
- outside Bexar County
- Submit the change request form
If Your Business Was Sold:
Two common situations:
A) You sold the business as a whole
- Provide the sale date
- Provide buyer information if available
B) You sold or removed equipment
- Provide the sale date and what was sold
- Keep records in case of questions during valuation or protest
