Currently, the only governmental program that qualifies for 1-d-1 productivity on its own is the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), a federal program allowing producers to put cropland back into grassland. The landowner is paid to participate in this program.
Other governmental programs such as brush or cedar control or crop subsidies are normal and prudent ranch maintenance. Those programs with no other agricultural use are not considered a qualifying use.
